Vaughn Gittin Jr. began his professional drifting career ten years ago. The self-taught American drifter came from humble beginnings driving his personal Nissan S13 in Formula Drift. The switch to a Ford Mustang in 2005 has brought the Maryland native much notoriety and sponsors such as Ford Racing, Monster Energy drinks, Nitto Tires and K&N air filters.

The 2010 Formula Drift champion was able to lock in a solid third place finish in the 2014 championship series following Formula Drift Round 7 “Final Fight” at Irwindale Speedway in California. Irwindale Speedway is often called the “House of Drift” as this venue is considered the birthplace of American drifting. The 2014 FD Championship was decided during round 7 at Irwindale as Chris Forsberg and Fredric Aasbo were locked in a tight battle for the lead. Forsberg came out on top, with Aasbo finishing the season in second overall.

Christian PaHud recovered the lead from Brandon McReynolds on a lap 126 restart and he never looked back taking the Toyota/Napa Auto Parts 150 win at All American Speedway in Roseville

By way of the Peak Stock Car Dream Challenge contest, Christian PaHud was awarded an opportunity to drive a NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Toyota stock car during the Toyota/Napa Auto Parts 150 at All American Speedway in Roseville, California. PaHud drove the number 99 Bill McAnally Racing (BMR) Peak Toyota to the fastest qualifying time, winning the Coors Brewing Co. Pole Award and then drove the BMR Toyota straight onto victory lane. The Peak Stock Car Dream Challenge included coaching from two-time Daytona 500 race winner and younger brother to Darrell Waltrip, Michael Waltrip.

The Peak Stock Car Dream Challenge is truly making dreams come true. PaHud is the third Peak contest driver to win in the number 99 Bill McAnally Racing Toyota. The 2013 Peak contest winner, Patrick Staropoli, took the checkered flag at Irwindale Speedway in California and Chris Eggleston earned the win at Colorado National Speedway this past July. After his win, Christian PaHud said “I don’t know what to think right now. This is just a dream come true.”

PaHud led the most laps during the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Toyota/Napa Auto Parts 150 at All American Speedway in Roseville, California, but had his work cut out for him. There were six lead changes involving four drivers, however once PaHud took the lead from Brandon McReynolds on a lap 126 restart he never looked back. James Bickford in the number 6 Sunrise Ford Fusion was able to make it past McReynolds eventually finishing in the runner-up position. McReynolds held onto the third position, with Greg Pursley and David Mayhew on his tail.

One more race, the Casino Arizona 100 in Phoenix, Arizona, remains in the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West season. Greg Pursley remains in the lead for the championship, by 21 points, and was able to increase his lead over Dylan Lupton due to Lupton’s unfortunate mid-race spin. Brandon McReynolds is just seven points behind Lupton in third. The final race at Phoenix International Raceway could decide the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship.

Factory Replacement Fuel Filter Line from K&N Designed to OEM Performance Specs

K&N performance replacement fuel filter housings are made from high-strength carbon steel and powder coated for corrosion resistance

K&N performance replacement fuel filter housings are made from high-strength carbon steel and powder coated for corrosion resistance

A fuel filter serves to screen out dirt and debris particles moving from a vehicle’s fuel tank, through the pump, and into the fuel injection system or carburetor. A fuel filter is usually found in the fuel line after the fuel tank, but before the fuel pump. If the fuel were left unfiltered these fine particles, of rust, dirt, scale, and other foreign materials would cause rapid wear to the fuel pump and fuel injectors because of their rough grainy qualities. This could lead to eventual fuel pump or injector failure and a vehicle that will not run.

The high-performance cellulose glass media used in the K&N performance replacement fuel filter line removes contaminants such as rust, dirt, scale and other foreign materials, providing excellent fuel system protection

Replacing a vehicle’s fuel filter is part of routine vehicle maintenance. If a fuel filter is not replaced at the manufacturer’s recommended service interval it could become clogged and cause enough restriction in the fuel flow to reduce engine performance or struggle to maintain normal operation. Additionally, use and regular maintenance of a fuel filter can maintain factory performance and fuel economy. The less restriction found in the fuel system, and fewer contaminants, the more efficiently an engine can run.

The K&N performance fuel filter line is designed as a direct factory or aftermarket fuel filter cross reference and meets or exceeds factory design and performance

K&N Performance Reusable Air filter for 2014, 2015 and 2016 Harley-Davidson Touring Bike

The K&N replacement washable air filter for 2014-2016 Harley-Davidson® Touring Models is designed to fit in the stock air filter box and increase performance without a dyno tune

The K&N replacement washable air filter for 2014-2016 Harley-Davidson® Touring Models is designed to fit in the stock air filter box and increase performance without a dyno tune

Harley-Davidson® made improvements to the entire 2014 model year Touring family of motorcycles. Perhaps the most talked about change was the addition of liquid cooling to the Twin-Cooled™ High-Output Twin Cam 103™ engine found in Harley-Davidson® Ultra Limited models. The rest of the Harley-Davidson® touring bike family also saw power improvements for their Twin Cam 103™ engines, including a new air filter box which, as Harley-Davidson® claims, increases intake airflow.

Owners of 2014 & 2015 Harley-Davidson Touring Models, including Twin-Cooled Ultra Limited models can upgrade to a made in the USA reusable air filter from K&N

Owners of 2014 and 2015 Harley-Davidson Touring Models, including Twin-Cooled Ultra Limited models can upgrade to a made in the USA reusable air filter from K&N

While the air filter box used on 2014, 2015 and 2016 Harley-Davidson® Touring models equipped with Twin Cam 103™ engines is capable of increasing intake airflow over the older design, it is still outfitted with restrictive disposable Harley filters from the factory. Owners of 2014-2016 Road King, Electra Glide Ultra Classic, Tri Glide Ultra, Electra Glide Ultra Limited, Street Glide and 2015 Road Glide or FreeWheeler models can upgrade to a made in the USA reusable air filter from K&N Performance Filters.

Since 1969 K&N performance filters has been manufacturing high-flow washable air filter technology in Riverside, California. A K&N reusable air filter is different from stock in that K&N uses cotton gauze filter media woven to exacting specifications. Cotton, by nature, is more breathable than the paper media used for most Harley filters. Reducing air restriction into your engine can increase performance, acceleration, and throttle response. This boost in horsepower and acceleration can be useful while passing, two-up riding, or towing that pull behind motorcycle trailer. Some might be worried that an increase in airflow comes at the expense of filtration efficiency and engine protection. To put minds at ease K&N performs filtration efficiency testing following the ISO 5011 protocol to guarantee that our air filters will provide high airflow without sacrificing engine protection.

To ensure that this air filter will last for the life of your motorcycle, K&N uses zinc-coated top and bottom plates for excellent corrosion resistance and fit as if from the factory

Perhaps more exciting than the increased performance that comes with a K&N high-flow replacement air filter is that they are also a washable and reusable air filter. The advantage of a washable air filter is that it will pay for itself over time. To ensure that this air filter will last for the life of your motorcycle, K&N uses zinc-coated top and bottom plates for excellent corrosion resistance. A K&N replacement air filter can also reduce maintenance costs as they typically allow for long service intervals when compared to a disposable paper air filter.

A K&N replacement air filter can be washed and made like new using one of the K&N Recharger air filter service kits. Recharger kit 99-5000, includes 12 fluid ounces of air filter cleaner and a 6.5 ounce aerosol bottle of air filter oil for quick and easy application. K&N Recharger kit 99-5050, differs in that it includes an 8 ounce squeeze bottle of K&N filter oil for a more precise application.

An electric fuel pump has advantages over a mechanical pump even for carbureted applications and a K&N universal electric fuel pump has features above and beyond most electric pumps

Traditionally fuel pumps were mechanical and driven by the rotation of the engine itself. A diaphragm inside the mechanical pump created suction drawing fuel from the tank to the carburetor. The action of the mechanical fuel pump is similar to that of a piston moving inside an engine. Over time, or due to heat, the diaphragm can leak or fail completely. This can cause drivability issues, or in the case of complete pump failure, a vehicle that will not run.

The entire line of K&N electric fuel pump units are light weight & compact with simple Installation using included bolts, and the two color coded wires makes getting 12V power stress-free

As cars moved from carburetors to fuel injection, mechanical fuel pumps were replaced by electric fuel pumps due to the higher fuel pressures required by fuel injection. An electric fuel pump has several advantages over a mechanical fuel pump even for carbureted applications. An electric fuel pump doesn't rely on the speed of the engine to move fuel. This results in even, steady, fuel pressure throughout the system. Also, because a mechanical fuel pump is bolted to the engine block and exposed to high temperatures this can cause fuel to vaporize. Because a mechanical fuel pump is designed to move liquids, it cannot move a gas resulting in vapor lock. A properly installed electric fuel pump will virtually eliminate the possibility of vapor lock.

K&N electric fuel pumps are made in the U.S.A and performance rated at 6,000 hours to outlast many other pumps giving K&N the confidence to back them with a 5 year warranty

K&N electric fuel pumps are made in the U.S.A and performance rated at 6,000 hours to outlast many other pumps giving K&N the confidence to back them with a 5 year warranty

K&N electric fuel pumps take electric pump advantages to a higher level. State of the art sealed electronics are contained in the corrosion resistant composite case housing. K&N electronic fuel pumps do not have bearings, electrical contacts, or diaphragms to wear out or fatigue. They are performance rated for 6,000 hours and can last four to five times longer than many other electric fuel pumps. The entire unit is light weight at only 18 ounces and compact, measuring just 3 inches. Installation is simple using two included bolts, and the two color coded wires makes getting 12V power to the pump stress-free. K&N electric pumps are self-priming and self-regulating eliminating the need for a separate fuel pressure regulator.

K&N electric fuel pumps are available in four variations depending on the fuel pressure needs of different engine applications. K&N Fuel Pump 81-0400 is rated at 1.0-2.0 PSI, or 15 gallons per hour. This pump is best suited for small engine applications, such as generators, power equipment, or motorcycle and ATV use. Fuel Pump 81-0401 is rated at 1.5-4.0 PSI/25 GPH and will work well with carbureted four and six-cylinder automotive applications. Part number 81-0402 has a 4.0-7.0 PSI/32 GPH rating. 81-0402 is ideal for typical gasoline V8 powered car and truck use. K&N Fuel Pump 81-0403 is being called a diesel fuel pump because of the higher fuel pressure needs of diesel engines. 81-0403 is rated at 9.0-11.5 PSI/34 GPH. Both 81-0400 and 81-0403 have an internal check valve to help keep the fuel system primed when powered off. This is critical in diesel or powersports applications.

K&N universal electric fuel pumps include a fuel filter, hose barb fitting, are self-priming and self-regulating which eliminates the need for a separate fuel pressure regulator

K&N universal electric fuel pumps include a fuel filter, hose barb fitting, are self-priming and self-regulating which eliminates the need for a separate fuel pressure regulator

All four pumps are compatible with gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, E85, blended alcohol, and fuel additives. K&N electric fuel pumps can be used on all carburetor equipped engines as well as a lift pump for diesel fuel injection systems. Each pump includes a disposable fuel filter which threads into the pump's inlet, and a 1/8" NPT threaded hose barb fitting for the outlet. The included fuel filter and hose barb will work with 3/8" fuel line, or can be swapped out for different diameter hose fittings, sold separately. Fuel pumps 81-0401 and 81-0402 can be placed up to 12" above the fuel tank. 81-0400 can be placed up to 24" above the fuel tank, and the diesel electric fuel pump, number 81-0403, can be located 50" above the fuel tank.

K&N electric fuel pumps are manufactured in the U.S.A and are backed by a 5 year warranty. K&N has thousands of universal and custom performance parts or use the vehicle specific search tool to find parts specifically designed for your car, truck, motorcycle or even industrial equipment.
